Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
November 15--3:50 p.m. A caller reported a wounded deer with a possible broken leg. The Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. 11.20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a person with a severe nosebleed.
November16--7:51 a.m. A two car accident was reported at milepost 41. State patrol was notified. 11:24 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly lady who needed to be transported to hospital. 4:05 p.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported hearing a large explosion. 5:35 p.m. A motorist reported a van on SR4 was travelling in both lanes of traffic with its lights off. State patrol was notified.
November 17--9:57 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to help a man having a possible stroke. 6:09 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with a diabetic problem.6:42 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to help a woman with a high fever. 10:28 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle had hit a boulder in the road on SR 4 at milepost 39 and had been disabled.
November 18--3:09 a.m. A caller reported a car had rolled over on Puget Island bridge and that the driver had been drinking. 7 a.m. A caller reported snow on Beaver Creek Road. The county road crew responded with sand and a snowplow. 8:54 a.m. A North Welcome Slough Road resident reported a person had been bitten by their own dog. 10:09 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a 57 year old man who was not responding appropriately. 11:39 p.m. Pacific County deputies requested assistance with a report of shots fired at a Naselle residence.
November 19--3:45 p.m. A hunter reported being trapped behind a gate north of Salmon Creek Road. 4:33 p.m. Another hunter reported being trapped behind a gate in the Fossil Creek area. 11:19 p.m. A caller reported hitting an elk on SR 4 with his car, which sustained a lot of damage. 11:07 p.m. A caller reported hearing shots fired in the Steamboat Slough area. A deputy investigated and reported seeing a vehicle leaving the area that had possibly been poaching on the wildlife refuge.
November 20--5:23 p.m. A caller reported theft of approximately 10 gallons of gas from a vehicle parked in a driveway off Main Street.
