There is only one week left until families get together for their annual Thanksgiving feast. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate for those of you who intend to travel for the holiday festivities.
News from Naselle:
Don’t forget Comet Booster Club Bingo which will be held on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Naselle Commons.
Sports for the coming week include: Monday-middle school girl’s basketball at Ocosta at 5:45 p.m .; Tuesday-middle school girl’s basketball with North Beach in Naselle at 5:45 p.m.
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held at Naselle-Grays River Valley School beginning on Friday through next Tuesday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. each day.
Naselle students will be released early on Wednesday and there will be no school on Thursday and Friday in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday.
All libraries in the Timberland Regional Library District will be closed on November 24 and 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
In addition, all Timberland libraries normally open later than 5p.m. on Wednesdays will close at 5p.m. on November 23.

As the weather changes, we need to be aware of the less than perfect conditions that wet and icy roads can bring. Make sure you adhere to the safe speeds for the conditions you will be driving in.
That said, if you plan to make a trip up the hill to Johnson Park (old Rosburg School) in bad weather, especially snow and icy conditions please call ahead to find out if the roads up to and down from the area are safe to drive on. The number to call is 465-2310.
The Grays River Valley Library/Community Computer Center is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The library and computer center will be closed on November 24 and 25 for Thanksgiving, however it will be open on November 26 with shortened hours from 1 to 3 p.m.
Note to all music lovers in the area! The Pioneer Community Association presents “Fall Into the Classics” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy works by Mozart, Mendelssohn, J S. Bach, Piazzolla, Vivaldi and others, featuring local artists Andrew Emlen on cello, Jeffrey Reynolds on piano, Ronald Thompson on violin and the beautiful voice of Jennifer Hanigan.
Tickets may be purchased at the Bank of the Pacific in Cathlamet or at the door for $10. What a wonderful way to start the holiday season—with beautiful music to set the mood.
Redmen Hall in Skamokawa will be open November 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., November 27, December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18 from noon to 4 p.m. for your shopping pleasure and holiday enjoyment. The hall is located at 1394 SR 4 in downtown Skamokawa.
This year’s holiday open house theme is “Come Home For The Holiday” and features music by local artists, book signings, home made goodies and gifts. This is a very unique and wonderful event. For more information please contact Diane Stockhouse at 849-4145. New artisans are always welcome.
The Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch that meets at Rosburg Hall will enjoy hamburger gravy over hot biscuits, fruit cups and dessert on the 23rd. On the 30th the group will have barbecue chicken, potato salad, fruit salad and dessert. Thank you, Pat Potter and your volunteers, for all you do for the community and our seniors.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays lunches are served at the same location, sponsored by CAP, thus giving local seniors three days a week to enjoy good company and nutritious meals at the Rosburg Hall. Thank you also to the CAP program and your volunteers.
