Shirley G. Hendrickson

Shirley G. Hendrickson died November 2, 2011.

She was born in Cathlamet and lived in the area for 30 years. Shirley married Alvar L. Hendrickson on August 27, 1949. Al died in August, 2007. Theirs was a blessed and enduring union for 58 years.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Ora Lorraine Bauer, and brother, Donald Coates, and many nieces and nephews. Shirley's aunt, Roberta Myers and cousins Rob and Carla are close surviving family. All four of Shirley and Al's children are surviving: Laurie, Mike, Mary and Randy and three granddaughters, Sarah, Elizabeth and Sydney Anne. A first great grandchild is expected in April.

Shirley and Al shared a business partnership for more than 30 years selling log homes and providing customized designs. A legacy of lasting creations has been the product of their joint effort.

For the last 10-plus years, she has treasured active membership in a Welches musical group, the Joyous Noise Kitchen Band.

A memorial service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on November 26, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Church on the Mountain. It is a big church located on the north side of Hwy 26 at the traffic light in Welches, Ore.
