Chamber seeks tree designers for festival
The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce has announced the kick-off of the holiday season with their seventh Annual Festival of Trees, beginning November 26.
The chamber is looking for designers to design a tree and donate it for an exhibition and ongoing silent auction.
For the past several years, local tree designers donated trees with theme's like "Mule Tree," "Fishing Tree," "Zebra Tree," and the "Huskies Tree." Designers win prizes, and shoppers who vote for their favorite are entered into a drawing to win prizes as well.
The donated trees will be on display in downtown Cathlamet from November 26 through December 15 at The Bank of the Pacific, 56 Main Street.
Proceeds will go to the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce for future holiday decorations. Prizes will be awarded to the designers on December 16 for "Best in Show" in each size category.
For more information, call the Chamber at 795-9996.
