Cathlamet resident, Helen Patricia Bigler, “Patty”, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2011. Patty was born May 8, 1932 to Leonard J. Ferguson and Laura M. Tennis in Eugene, Ore. She graduated from Eugene High School in 1950 and her first job was with the local phone company. She married the love of her life, David L. Bigler on August 4, 1962. They eventually made their home in Cathlamet where Patty retired from the Wahkiakum Sheriff’s Department as a civil deputy in 1995.
Patty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; a son, Chuck Bigler; a brother, William Reddick and a great-grandchild, Serenity Anschutz.
She is survived by her sister, Nola Broyles and husband, Keith; a brother, Phillip Reddick and wife, Connie; her daughter, Marie (Bigler) Welch and her fiancé, Michael Boyd, her son, Richard Bigler and wife Bonnie; and her step-children, David Iverson, Carl Iverson, Steven Keefer and Brenda Baker. Patty was also blessed with her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bigler) Esponde, Melissa (Bigler) Anschutz and Christine (Bigler) Pittman; and her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Hanna Anschutz, Skyler and Emily Esponde and Mason Pittman.
Patty loved being with her family and extended family at River of Life Assembly of God. She travelled the world, but her favorite trips recently were to the island of Maui.
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother will always be in our hearts and will be missed dearly by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011 at River of Life Assembly of God Church in Cathlamet. Memorial contributions may be made in Patty Bigler’s name to River of Life Assembly of God Church, 45 Main St., Cathlamet, WA 98612.
