Lifelong area resident, Robert B. “Rob” Webb, Jr., 77, passed away October 11, 2011 at his home in Cathlamet. He was born May 30, 1934 in Corvallis, Ore. to Robert, Sr. and Muriel (Hall) Webb.
The Webb family moved to Skamokawa in 1942. Rob graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1953. He married Yvonne Sprague on September 27, 1959; she preceded him in death on May 1, 2009.
Rob was a member of Cathlamet Seventh Day Adventist Church and acted as Head Elder for several years. He worked as a dairyman, managed the Chevron gas station for three years and also worked in the logging industry for several years. Upon retirement he was co-owner of Webb Works with his brother Frank.
Rob was a family man; he especially loved his grandchildren and his dog Buster. He enjoyed cars and race cars, loved the outdoors and teaching his children about the woods. He enjoyed several trips to Alaska with Vonnie.
He is survived by his children, Charles Webb of Longview and Katie (Ted) Wileman of Cathlamet; his brothers, Frank (Cynda) Webb of Longview and Tom (Rosalie) Webb of Skamokawa; a sister, Helen (Arnold) Moss of Vancouver; two grandchildren, Kayla and Cody Wileman; three nieces and three nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday at United Methodist Church in Skamokawa with private interment at Fernhill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Rob Webb’s name to Wahkiakum Human Services, P.O. Box 42, Cathlamet, WA 98632.
