Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
To The Eagle:
Through this letter, I want to thank and recognize the work of The Charlotte House.
Thanks for the opportunity of being admitted to the program and to those directly responsible, I want to congratulate the result and thank the efforts and dedication invested in me, in my process. As a consequence, I am on the verge of getting my permanent residence in the United States of America.
Likewise, I want to emphasize the team spirit and fellowship observed during my stay in the months that I was living in the institution. I hope I can keep the same situation of effort with their collaboration on the details that might occur to complete the last step of my process.
I thank those who work daily at the shelter:
Ms. Susan Schillios, manager. Special recognition for her work experience.
Mrs. Kimberlee Anderson, legal advocate.
Ms. Verna Almer, advocate, for her special attention.
Mrs. Beth Hansen, supervisor.
The volunteers, each and every one of them for their time and solidarity.
My recognition of their work, dedication and quality performance, continuous daily results, and work excellence. I had assistance any time I needed it, day or night, 24 hours a day.
The objective was achieved, allowing me to grow and strengthen, to continue achieving goals in life and so develop. I have documented my experience and logistics process as it may well be useful in another particular time or event.
Definitely a key in this whole process has been my advocate, Ms. Kimberlee Anderson, who always had a successful response to my constant questions and doubts.
Ms. Anderson, working with me day after day for four months, was always willing to help with my paperwork, contact agencies, institutions, lawyers, and editorial office of letters, document review and supervision, answer correspondence, research information, consult books, references, via media (internet), and to consult with her colleagues.
She always gave me encouragement when I felt most defeated and fearful. She always had a word of encouragement and comfort but above all human quality and compassion and understanding. She would work off the clock hours and overtime to support me until the end of the day.
My English is limited and heavily accented but Ms. Anderson, with her interest in helping and doing good work and her patience helped me express myself properly and give myself time to look up the word in the dictionary. She was always on time and present.
Ms. Anderson took my case as her own case and in four months, I have achieved what I could not in 24 months; my life began to settle here in Cathlamet when I got to The Charlotte House on April 28, 2011. Ms. Anderson is one who knows her job well and does things with passion; today in the workplace it is hard to find this. Her professionalism helps to enhance the image of the institution.
Recognition and gratitude are the best gifts a person can receive at any time, anywhere in the world. In humans, gratitude takes the form in varied and curious ways. Every culture has their own way but some are more common to all, a smile, a hug, a handshake and now I take the written word to say thank you.Giving thanks and recognition is certainly one of the most joyful gestures that universal and beautiful human beings are capable of. The giving is a feeling.
I reiterate my thanks, congratulations and appreciation to the shelter. Keep walking in the light, thanks for existing. Blessings.
