DNR crew a credit to youth camp

To The Eagle:

With temperatures at 85 degrees and rising, humidity above 80 percent, dressed in overalls, helmets and all manner of safety gear, the young men of the DNR crew couldn’t have worked harder or more efficiently if they had been professionals. I was informed this crew had only been together for three days yet the coordination and flow of the work this crew performed was seamless. The Mariner Lodge team work was directed by supervisor Tim Tienhaara whose years of experience served to expand each crew member's exposure to power and gas and hand tools and their safe efficient use. And work they did, throughout the long hot day of hard physical labor this crew was respectful, good natured and well mannered.

If these young men are the end product of the programs of the Youth Camp they are a truly shining example of why the Youth Camp needs our support to keep them open.

The work of the Mariner Lodge DNR crew efforts contributed so very much to the expansion and ongoing restoration of the old Rosburg School grounds and of great importance, created the first of a trail system we have wished for at Johnson Park. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude and know we are so very proud of each and every young man as their hard work resulted in positive changes to our community whether young or older, we all benefit.

To the Youth Camp, to Tim Tienhaara, to the young men of Mariner Lodge, thank you.
