Kim Angelis and Josef will open for Farmstock, KMUN's Regional Homegrown Festival at 7 p.m., September 3. Angelis will be joined by guitarist and partner, Josef, as part of Farmstock's full day of music.

"Gypsy Kim and Josef are long-time supporters of Coast Community Radio," says Tom Hartland, Development Director for Tillicum Foundation, the non-profit corporation operating KMUN 91.9FM. "Their high-energy musicianship thrills audiences at every performance."

Music for Farmstock begins at 1 p.m. with Anitize, veteran folk and country artist Ray Prestegard, Sunday Market regulars the Tim Root bluegrass band, plus troubadour Niall Carroll, all to conclude with dance music into the night.

Host Fred Johnson will open his 70 acre farm in Naselle to Farmstock, the celebration of all things local and sustainable in the lower Columbia region.

On Labor Day Weekend, September 3 -4, Johnson invites any and all to the Tailgate Farmers Market, "Starting at 10 a.m. and open until it sells out," said Johnson.

Along with the market, workshops will be offered on a variety of topics including chicken cooping, tool sharpening, composting, wine making and more. Multiple workshop sessions are scheduled to start Saturday at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:35 p.m.

Johnson will be serving pizzas using fresh ingredients starting at 11:30 a.m. for lunch, Rio Cafe will provide enchiladas at 5 p.m., and the Fort George Beer Garden opens at 1 p.m..

Reservations are also being accepted until August 19 for Johnson's Farmhouse Dinner, sourced locally and served lavishly on September 4, at 1 p.m. The dinner price of $25 per person will include a discussion of how shopping and dining help to sustain the local growers, distributors, markets and restaurants for the region.

At 10 a.m. on Sunday, stakeholders in a sustainable future are invited to join a plenary discussion to include topics of food security, regional economy and more.

Other than the dinner, admission is free. Parking at $5 per car adds to the proceeds for the benefit of programming on KMUN Astoria.

Information and dinner reservations can be found at CoastRadio.org/farmstock, and by calling the station at 503-325-0010.
