Horse barn ready thanks to volunteers

To The Eagle:

I am writing to you so that I may publicly thank all who have helped with painting the horse barn and fixing the stalls at the fairgrounds. It was something that needed to be done and the horse people pulled together to get the work done.

My thanks go out to Joni Matthews and her daughters Makaya and Makenzie. Also a member of her 4-H group, Jordan Smith, and her friend Robert Eaton. I would also like to thank Starsha and Shakesha Rose. A special thanks goes to Lois Wakefield, who put together wonderful lunches for us and is truly an inspiration. She got in there and pulled nails, staples and tacks and painted right along with the rest of us when she really didn't have to.

Let me not forget Becky Ledtke; what a super fair manager. She is always there when we are needing to work. She is so supportive of the fair and what needs to be done. I would like to thank Ed Stevens. He's made sure everything was power washed and ready for us to paint. He has also done a great job on the arena and the rest of the fairgrounds.

I'm horse barn superintendant and I come from Selah to help at this fair because it's a great fair. I showed at this fair as a kid and both of my sons have shown animals here.

I ask that if you have time and would like to volunteer, this is the place. You'll meet some great people and have a fun time.

Again, thanks to everyone who helped with the horse barn painting parties.
