Coaches urge athletes to compete paperwork

With the start of school fall sports approaching, Wahkiakum Mule and Warrior coaches are urging their athletes to take care of paperwork needed to be eligible to participate.

"There are several paperwork items that you must take care of prior to the start of the first practice," said district Athletic Director Marc Niemeyer.

These include a current physical and insurance coverage; a signed concussion awareness form – one for the parent and one for the athlete; a signed athletic code, and a signed sport specific safety awareness form.

Prior to the first contest the athlete must purchase an associated student body (ASB) card and pay the participation fee, $60 for high school sports and $30 for middle school sports.

"All forms/fees can be picked up/paid at the school office that your student will be attending," Niemeyer said. "Please take care of the paperwork ASAP and give it to your respective coach on the first day of practice."
