Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
July 25--6:38 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley resident having seizures. 1:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with breathing difficulty. 3:36 p.m. A caller reported a brush fire on West Sunny Sands; a Puget Island Fire Department officer investigated and found it under control. 5:50 p.m. A caller reported people were digging freshwater clams at Hornstra's Beach, a violation of state law; the state Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) was notified. 8:48 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a man was going to steal a truck; an officer was advised.
July 26--8:57 a.m. The owner of a boat moored at the Elochoman Sough Marina reported someone had stolen fishing gear off the boat; an officer was advised. 4 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported someone has been stealing gasoline from vehicles along Columbia Street for the past few months.
July 27--9:18 p.m. A caller reported a big maroon and cream boat was beached or anchored on Hornstra's Beach; an officer investigated and found two people aboard; one had two active warrants of arrest and was taken into custody. 11:01 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported being threatened; a deputy was advised.
July 28--10:57 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident having difficulty swallowing. 12:07 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman injured in a fall. 4:39 p.m. A motorist reported that a juvenile was operating a motor vehicle on Puget Island and almost caused a collision; an officer was unable to find the juvenile. 6:01 p.m. A Puget Island woman reported hearing gunshots nearby and then feeling shotgun pellets fall on her head; an officer made contact with the people doing the shooting. 6:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with abdominal pain.
July 29--12:05 a.m. People at Skamokawa Vista Park reported a group of juveniles was being very loud and disruptive. 7:19 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa woman having chest pain. 8:30 a.m. A caller reported anglers had made a fire in logs at the East Sunny Sands public fishing access in an area that would be difficult for firemen to reach; an officer made contact. 12:21 p.m. A caller said people were taking freshwater clams at Hornstra's Beach; the WDFW was advised. 3:11 p.m. A Puget Island resident said a neighbor's dog isn't secured and it wanders around and causes trouble, including attacking children. 6:41 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman injured in a fall at Vista Park. 9:28 p.m. A motorist reported a truck with a boat trailer was disabled on SR 4 on KM Mountain; the state patrol and a tow truck were advised.
July 30--8:49 a.m. A motorist reported a car pulling a trailer had twice hit the guard rail along SR 4 and then hit a vehicle; the collision occurred in Cowlitz County and was relayed to authorities there. 4:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man who was confused unable to get out of his car in Cathlamet. 6:22 p.m. Officers and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to the eastern foot of KM Mountain where a car had run off SR 4 and rolled; officers determined the driver had been drinking; accompanied by a state patrolman, he was taken to a hospital for treatment.
July 31--3:50 p.m. Wahkiakum dispatchers received a phone call from a person in Wyoming reporting a domestic disturbance; the call was relayed to Wyoming authorities.
August 1--12:36 a.m. Officers were advised of a domestic disturbance at a Rosedale residence.
