Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
One of Gods finest spirits was released back into the world on July 10, 2011. Robert Allen Creech was born September 15, 1945 to William L. and Esther I. (Lindwall) Creech in Cathlamet. He spent his youth growing up in Cathlamet. Bob loved the outdoors, working in the woods as a logger, commercial fishing with his uncle “Bud” hunting and fishing with his brother Bill and his parents, being at the river, and spending time with his daughters, canoeing and camping. He especially enjoyed time with his friends and his mother Esther, whom he considered his best friend. All these experiences combined together influenced and shaped him into a very special man. He leaves his friends and family, wishing for more time, more joy, more humor, more pranks, stories and smiles. Humble and a nurturer, he offered his hand and heart to anyone in need.
Bob was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in 2008. He was married for the past 17 years to Risa L. Vincent-Creech. They were classmates and dated when they were both 15 years old, they married in 1994 after meeting for a second time at the 1993 West High School 30th Year Reunion in Anchorage, Alaska. Risa survives him at home; other surviving family members include his uncle, Paul “Bud” Lindwall of Puget Island; brother, William “Bill” Creech of Anchorage; his loving daughters, Amanda Creech, Samantha Creech, Teresa Creech-Barnett and her husband Greg; his grandchildren, Izaac and Thea; his step-children, Ron and Russ Breckenridge and Brandi Smolinski; many nieces, nephews, cousins and co-workers in Alaska.
A Memorial Service and picnic will be held in Cathlamet on Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 1-3 p.m. at the Elochoman Marina, all of you whom he recalled so fondly are invited to attend and contribute to honoring his life. At the end of the gathering, the Army Honor Guard will perform honors for Bob.
