Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
June 20--1:43 p.m. A Waranka Road resident said someone was leaving vehicles on the road and impeding traffic. 2:56 p.m. A Puget Island resident had reported people were parking vehicles on the beach; she was referred to the US Army Corps of Engineers who referred her to the county emergency management office. 7:30 p.m. A Cathlamet business manager said a fired employee is refusing to return keys; a deputy was advised.
June 21--10:38 a.m. A call reported juveniles riding ATV's weren't wearing helmets. 6:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale man injured in a fall.
June 22--8:41 a.m. A caller reported a possible case of illegal drug use and child abuse. 9:09 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported horses were causing damage in the Welcome Slough area. 1:53 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported finding a bottle with possible human remains; a deputy is investigating. 3:05 p.m. An East Valley resident said a woman and children on bicycles were yelling at drivers to go slowly and the caller asked that a deputy make contact with the woman on the bike; officers were notified. 3:38 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported receiving a bad check. 7:55 p.m. A caller reported someone had taken a drug overdose; the Cathlamet ambulance was dispatched, and a mental health professional was advised.
June 23--11:33 a.m. A caller said people were parking vehicles on Waranka Road. 11:35 a.m. A Waranka Road resident reported someone was trespassing. 8:42 p.m. The tsunami warning center reported a 7.5 earthquake occurred in Alaska at 7:10 p.m .; the center issued no advisory; 9:33 p.m., the warning was cancelled.
June 24--7:16 a.m. A caller said people were camping in the fishermen's parking area on Steamboat Slough Road; a deputy made contact and was told the people were day use only. 11:19 a.m. A motorist, who had collided with a tree, reported being very upset and needing assistance; Health and Human Services were contacted. 1:11 p.m. A person reported being bitten by a dog while at Puget Island yard sales. 1:40 p.m. A motorist reported people going to yard sales were causing traffic problems on Puget Island; the state patrol was notified. 3:59 a.m. A caller reported people in a blue and green trailer1 were camping overnight at he fishermen's parking area on Steamboat Slough Road; they were gone when a deputy arrived. 7:44 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a teenage girl with a breathing problem. 9:55 p.m. A security officer reported people were being suspicious at the Elochoman Slough Marina.
June 25--10:36 a.m. A caller reported a woman had been assaulted the previous night; an officer made contact and the victim didn't want to press charges. 4:39 p.m. A caller reported a car fire on Main Street; the fire was extinguished before the fare department was dispatched. 6:05 p.m. A caller reported finding possible human remains in the Elochoman Valley ; an officer is investigating. 9:21 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman who injured a hip in a fall.
June 26--8:29 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid with a medical problem. 1:32 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported people were walking up the creek and became aggressive when asked what they were doing. 2:35 p.m. The Grays RIver ambulance responded to aid an unconscious woman. 4:40 p.m. A caller said a man in a vehicle with children inside was yelling and possibly hitting the kids; an officer investigated and found the man was talking on a cell phone. 9:31 p.m. A caller reported a large fire at a North Welcome Slough residence; an officer made contact and learned the people had failed to reported an outdoor burn taking place.
