Parade entrants sought for Bald Eagle Day

The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce is seeking participants for this Bald Eagle Days Parade. This year's theme is "Land of the Free, Because of the Brave."

"Time to put your thinking cap on, talk to your friends, family and co-workers. Be as creative as you want, build a float or get a group together and walk," said chamber coordinator Lynda Gerlach. "Come on all you business owners, get your staff together for a Bald Eagle party and build a float."

Ideas for themes include fishing, farms, logging, business, restaurants, churches, clubs and family. Prizes are available in a number of categories.

Those taking part are asked to meet at Wahkiakum High School and be in place by 9:30 a.m. on July 16 and be ready for judging by 10 a.m. Parade applications are available at the chamber office and Bank of the Pacific, as well as online at http://www.wahkiakumchamber.com. For more information call Gerlach at 795-9996.
