Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Last week was National EMS Recognition Week, and the Cathlamet Town Council and Mayor George Wehrfritz adopted this resolution recognizing the work of emergency responders.
We heartily endorse the proclamation. The local volunteers make significant sacrifices and do wonderful work.
Proclamation
Whereas, May 15-21, 2011, has been designated as National EMS Recognition Week, and
Whereas, It is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to our Cathlamet Fire Department and EMS services for their service and sacrifices to the Town of Cathlamet and community in general, and
Whereas, More than 430 times in the past year Cathlamet Fire Department EMS personnel left their homes and jobs and unselfishly responded to calls for aid, regardless of the hour,
Now, Therefore, I, George Wehrfritz, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Town of Cathlamet, do hereby proclaim the week of May 15-21 as "National EMS Recognition Week."
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Town of Cathlamet to be affixed this 16th day of May in the year of our Lord 2011.
(signed) George Wehrfritz, Mayor
