Naselle Lutheran plans Memorial Day garage sale

Naselle Lutheran Church is the site for a large multi-family garage sale during the Memorial Day weekend.

The event will be held on May 27 and 28 from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day. Coffee and baked goods will also be available for sale.

Monies earned will be used to continue on with mission work. The church is located at 308 Knappton Road in Naselle.

Meeting for Bald Eagle Days set

Charlotte House sets advocacy training

The Charlotte House will be presenting its bi-annual domestic violence advocacy training this summer.

The 20-hour training will begin in June; an ad will be placed in next week's Eagle with specific times and dates. The public is welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.

Thursday 4-H Club planned for summer

The Cowlitz County 4H Youth program is planning a summer “Thursday 4H Club” for children who have completed the 2nd grade and older to 6th grade. The Thursday 4H club will be held on Thursdays on June 2, June 16, July 7, July 21, and August 4.

The 4H project activities will be cooking, container gardening, and Arts and Crafts and will be entered in the Cowlitz County Fair 4-H Department.

The last session on August 4 will be an awards and celebration event to recognize the achievements of the 4H members in the “Thursday 4H Club.”

The cost is $12 per child but if a parent helps at all five sessions-the $12 fee will be refunded. If the parent helps at three sessions, half of the fee will be refunded.

Participants must attend the first four sessions that will be held at the WSU Cowlitz County office at 1946 3rd Avenue in Longview.

A parent or adult family member is required to attend at least one of the five sessions.

Participants will be enrolled in WSU Extension’s 4-H Youth Program for the week as a special interest 4-H group. This summer 4H club is sponsored by the Cowlitz County 4H program, JC Penney After School, and Washington Service Corp.

Registration deadline is May 25 with class size limited to 10 participants. Students are registered on a first paid, first served basis. For more information or to receive a registration form contact WSU Extension, Chantel Hammer at 577-3014 Ext. 6.

Audubon Society plans kids day

The Willapa Hills Audubon Society's final program of the spring will be an Audubon Kids Day on June 11 at the Cowlitz PUD Auditorium from 1 to 3 p.m. The society has lots of fun, bird-related activities for kids of all ages. Snacks will be served.
