Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
May 9--10:49 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman having chest pain. 11:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman possibly having a stroke. 12:56 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported someone in a pickup was driving erratically and had almost wrecked several times; an officer was unable to find the vehicle. 10:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman with an abdominal problem.
May 10--2:02 p.m. A person reported finding a driver's license, credit cards and key belonging to a local resident on Maple Ridge; the items were returned. 3:26 p.m. A Cathlamet business reported several attempts of email fraud with the perpetrator furnishing false addresses of Cathlamet residents. 7:02 p.m. Wahkiakum High School reported an assault had occurred or might occur; an officer responded and the situation resolved itself. 7:16 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a child was being harassed through email and Facebook; an officer investigated.
May 11--9:58 a.m. A Westend resident reported ongoing drug activity. 3:45 p.m. A caller reported a person with a pickup was taking scrap metal without permission on an Elochoman Valley logging road; an officer stopped the vehicle and made an arrest.
May 12--12:55 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman with severe back pain. 2:59 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported harassing phone calls; the report was referred to Lewis County, from where the calls were coming. 3:33 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Greenwood Hill man who refused treatment. 3:52 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a domestic disturbance was starting; an officer made contact.
May 13--3:35 p.m. A motorist reported two vehicles were weaving all over SR 4 at Cathlamet; an officer made contact with the drivers. 4:39 p.m. An East Sunny Sands resident reported an ongoing problem with three speeding vehicles. 9:34 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman with chest pain. 9:37 p.m. A caller reported a drunken driver in Cathlamet; an officer stopped the vehicle and made an arrest. 10:24 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a possible burglary.
May 14--4:54 p.m. Lewis County asked officers in the region to watch for an older man who was reported missing; a Wahkiakum officer spotted the vehicle and stopped it and summoned a mental health professional. 6:07 p.m. A boater reported being aground in the Columbia near buoys 35 and 37; the Coast Guard was notified.
May 15--10:27 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with chest pain. 12:27 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident requested an officer's assistance with a trespasser. 1:29 p.m. A motorist reported two vehicles were disabled on SR 4 after hitting a large fallen rock at Milepost 41.
