Sheriff's Report - May 12, 2011

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

May 2--11:13 a.m. District 2 firemen reported a Silver Streak trailer was parked and blocking a fire hall and it should be removed. 1:47 p.m. An East Valley resident reported a theft of metal; an officer investigated.

May 3--1:13 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a man with chest pain. 3:21 p.m. Wahkiakum School District officials reported a student had left campus without permission. 4:30 p.m. A Cathlamet woman reported learning that two boys had threatened to beat her son; a deputy was advised. 6:45 p.m. Officers served a warrant at a Rosedale residence and arrested a subject. 7:06 p.m. A man reported having a confrontation with a young man in a red pickup who speeds up and down Greenwood Road; a deputy was advised.

May 4--7:06 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man with chest pain. 11:08 a.m. A caller complained that a courthouse employee parks for hours on Main Street in violation of the town two-hour limit parking ordinance; an officer made contact. 11:55 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man with chest pain.

May 5--5:04 a.m. A caller reported someone had dragged two large logs onto a boat launch on Puget Island and blocked its use. 8:14 p.m. A caller reported people with an old pickup loaded with tires and chain saws had offered to sell tires to a local logging company. 10:39 a.m. A motorist reported that people in a vehicle had almost hit a car on SR 4 near Deep River and then had thrown garbage into a resident's personal garbage can; the state patrol was advised. 2:13 p.m. Cathlamet school officials reported that a student had an air gun on campus and needed to be searched; an officer investigated. 3:31 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a scam phone call in which the caller asked for the last four digits of a social security number. 4:52 p.m. A Deep River resident reported a trespass.

May 6--2:02 a.m. Pacific County authorities asked Wahkiakum officers to watch for four to six men in a dark SUV who were wanted in a shooting; the men weren't located. 3:46 a.m. A motorist reported finding bags of clothing, possibly stolen from a Longview chain store, on SR 4 between Cathlamet and Skamokawa. 9:04 a.m. A caller said a man pushed a woman to the ground in a domestic assault near County Line Park; the man was arrested. 11:28 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to county line park to aid a man with abdominal pain. 2:03 p.m. A man reported that someone was shooting and almost hit him at his Salme Road residence. 2:10 p.m. A man reported receiving harassing phone calls from his ex-wife; an officer made contact. 3:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa woman with complications from surgery. 7:30 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a woman who fell and was knocked unconscious. 10:51 p.m. A bartender reported two men were making serious threats; an officer made contact, and the situation was resolved. 11:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman having an allergic reaction.

May 8--8:05 a.m. Dispatchers took a call reporting eight cows were loose on Highway 30 in Oregon and two had been hit and killed; the call was relayed to the Oregon State Patrol. 1:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet man with chest pain. 2:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman having chest pain.

May 9--10:49 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman having chest pain. 11:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman possibly having a stroke.
