Meeting, work set for Seal Creek Cemetery

Concerned Wahkiakum County residents will again meeting May 21 at 11 a.m. to discuss the future of the Seal Creek Cemetery at a brown bag lunch at Johnson Park in Rosburg.

Participants will discuss the progress of translation of old Finnish records that created the private cemetery company and the present issue, which is the long term upkeep of the cemetery. Searches of the Washington and Oregon business records did not find the filing of records for the cemetery company.

Afterwards meeting, attendants will go to the cemetery for general clean-up rain or shine. Last fall's clean-up has greatly improved the cemetery's overall appearance, said participant Kari Kandoll, and it is hoped that the Naselle Youth Camp will be able to mow the grass before Memorial Day.

For more information call Greg and Kari Kandoll at 849-4353 or Gail Heppner at 465-2204.
