Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
April 18--3:54 a.m. An East Valley resident reported someone had entered his home and taken $1,000 from his wallet and left, headed to Longview.
April 19--12:30 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a person who was very drunk was pounding on doors and asking for things; a deputy made contact.
April 21--4:20 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported a man had taken a box from a residence and driven away in a small red pickup; deputies were notified. 10:25 a.m. A caller said juveniles were slandering a person on Facebook; a deputy made contact. 6:39 p.m. Grays River and Naselle firemen were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Salmon Creek Road.
April 22--7:36 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported someone had run off Columbia Street and damaged flower pots and a mailbox. 3:56 p.m. A caller said someone had gone through a girl's vehicle parked in the Wahkiakum High School parking lot and taken items; an officer investigated. 4:36 p.m. Officers and the state patrol responded to Nassa Point where a vehicle hit a rock on SR 4 and was damaged; no one was injured. 5:58 p.m. Callers reported that a ship had crashed into barges and the dock at the Wauna paper mill; the Coast Guard was notified. 6:03 p.m. A caller said someone in a gray Honda had run into a mailbox on Jacobson Road. 7:24 p.m. Officers arrested a man on a Longview police warrant.
April 23--2:10 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a Fern Hill residence. 10:33 p.m. A gas station reported a customer had paid for $5 of gasoline and pumped $50 worth and driven off; an officer made contact. 4:36 p.m. Offiers responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on South Welcome Slough Road. 6:36 p.m. An officer arrested a motorist after making a vehicle stop.
April 24--4:18 p.m. Officers, the Cathlamet ambulance and District 4 firemen responded to a one-car accident on SR 4 four miles east of Cathlamet; a person had minor injuries. 5:49 p.m. An East Valley resident reported a man was going through someone else's possessions; an officer made contact.
