Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
February 14--12:11 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a woman had violated a restraining order. 4:31 p.m. A South Welcome Slough Road resident reported someone's boat house had broken loose; a deputy investigated and the boat house was secured. 4:46 p.m. Communications officers received word that a boat was aground on the Oregon side of the channel one mile west of County Line Park and an emergency signal was flashing; the Coast Guard responded and rescued the party.
February 15--12:25 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone is shining lights in houses and disturbing people; an officer investigated and found no one around. 6:18 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported someone had violated a restraining order; an officer investigated. 9:51 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a person was neglecting to care for a horse; a Humane Society representative investigated and found the horse was malnourished and needed care of its hooves; the owner was contacted. 9:59 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a violation of a restraining order. 12:33 p.m. A caller said a man had pinned a woman against a wall in an Elochoman Valley residence; officers responded and made an arrest. 1:38 p.m. A Westend resident reported a domestic disturbance; an officer attempted to make contact with the caller. 9:52 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a man who had committed a theft was back in the area; a deputy was advised.
February 16--12:19 p.m. A caller reported illegal drug activity; an officer investigated. 3:17 p.m. An officer arrested a driver after making a traffic stop in Cathlamet. 4:58 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet man having chest pain. 7:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet man with a deep cut on the leg.
February 17--5:42 a.m. A motorist reported a log truck had spilled its load at the intersection of the Elochoman Valley and Beaver Creek roads. 10:23 a.m. A caller reported a man who had stolen wine at a Rosedale store was headed toward Long Beach; officers responded and arrested the suspect. 12:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man with a bad cut on a hand. 2:15 p.m. A caller reported a burglary and abuse of an animal; an officer investigated. 7:15 p.m. A Cathlamet girl reported being assaulted by her mother; an officer investigated.
February 18--8:09 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman having chest pain. 6:11 p.m. A Salmon Creek resident said a youth is riding a quad without lights up and down the road and is a traffic hazard; a deputy was advised. 7:15 p.m. A Grays River resident reported coming home and finding someone had been moving things in the barn.
February 19--6:03 p.m. A caller said a golden retriever with an electronic collar was wandering around and disturbing people in Cathlamet; the dog's owner was contacted.
February 20--2:06 a.m. Officers and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a report of a man injured in a fight on Main Street; the victim was coughing blood and possibly had a broken nose but refused treatment; a person was arrested. 2:40 a.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported people were walking down the road and making lots of noise; no one was around when an officer arrived. 9:22 a.m. A caller made a second report of a disabled elk near his residence; the Department of Fish and Wildlife had been notified the day before; the animal was dispatched. 3:19 p.m. A Rosedale business reported a motorist had left without paying for gasoline; an officer made contact with the motorist. 6:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet man with back pain. 6:24 p.m. A caller reported hearing shots in the Anderson Road area; an officer reported people were shooting at targets.
