Longtime Cathlamet resident Polly Britton passed away at the Hospice Care Center February 7, 2011 at the age of 73.
She was born November 10, 1937 in Los Angeles to Alan and Jane (Hart) Macrae. Polly grew up in California and graduated from Placerville High School in 1955.
She married Bruce Britton on May 26, 1956 in Reno. While Bruce was in the military, they travelled extensively, raising their three daughters.
Highlights of Polly's life were her family time, gardening, camping, cooking and animals, especially her dog Winnie. Polly loved the time she spent volunteering at Madigan Hospital Children's Ward. She will be remembered for her insatiable enthusiasm for life and her positive uplifting attitude. Her great sense of humor and the ability to bring out the best in people will be treasured by her family and the many friends she leaves behind.
Polly is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Kim and Jeff Tracy, and Pam and Joel Moore, all of Cathlamet; three grandsons, Corey Farmer, Kyle Farmer and Blake Anderson; her adopted daughter, Lucy Oman and the JOA Campground family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce in 1998 and a daughter, Michelle Farmer in 2010.
A Celebration of Life was held February 12. Private burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet.
