The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is planning a short project this summer to address rock fall issues on SR 4.
The department will have a scaling project near Milepost 39, Nassa Point, Communications Specialist Heidi Sause said Monday.
Scalers will climb the slope above the highway to dislodge or secure loose rock.
The project could last two weeks, Sause said, and traffic would probably be opened and closed intermittently.
Geotechnical engineers are also examining the slopes above SR 4 around Milepost 46, County Line Park, where rock slides have occurred this winter. No work is planned for the area, but the geotechnical report could change that, she said.
