Chiropractor growing a part-time practice

Dr. Rick Still has expanded his Longview chiropractic practice to Cathlamet one day a week.

“If Thursday fills up, I’d probably add Tuesday morning,” said Still, who shares space with Stephanie Crouse’s Simply Massage at 94 Main Street.

Patients call Still’s Longview office to make appointments and can be referred there if they need x-rays before he can treat them.

Still said he was en route to becoming an MD when he had an accident while wrestling. A chiropractor fixed his knee, and Still changed course.

The Calgary, Alberta, native moved to Orange County and ultimately began to practice at Longview Family Chiropractic Care and Back Pain Clinic in 1989, where his youngest patient has been one week old and the oldest 96 years.

Still said he’s seen excellent results with children, who respond more quickly than adults and that he enjoys helping people recover from lower back pain.

His wife, Jane Isfeld Still, is a writer who has published Mother’s Daze, a humorous look at parenting. She is working on a second book. The couple’s six children are grown, Still said.

Still said he was attracted to Cathlamet as a place to retire and he’s surprised by how well people in the community know each other. He hopes to have a locally staffed office in the future, but at present patients can call his Longview office at 360-636-2636 to make an appointment.
