The Wahkiakum Lady Mules basketball team split their Central League basketball games this week.
Last Thursday, the Lady Mules defeated the Morton-White Pass Timberwolves 46-41.
The Mules led 26-24 at halftime and outscored the home team 15-10 in the fourth quarter to claim the win.
Shelby Felton led the Mule scoring with 16 points. Caitlin Nicolazzi had eight, Brieanna Olsen seven, Brianne Helms, Maya Stanley and Haylee Budd had four apiece, Blaine Land two and Ellee Crouse one.
On Tuesday, the Mules faltered in the second half and lost 59-40 to the visiting Pe Ell Trojans.
Pe Ell led 15-9 at the end of the first quarter. Freshman Maya Stanley came off the bench to score three layins in the second quarter and spark the Mules into a 17-17 tie. Pe Ell pulled ahead 23-19 at halftime and took control in the second half as the Mules had trouble with turnovers at times.
Land led the Mule scoring with 11 points; Helms added 10, Stanley nine, Nicolazzi five, Felton three and Crouse two.
Nicolazzi grabbed 14 rebounds; Felton had 11 and Land had 10. Land made six steals, and Felton had nine assists.
The Mules are on the road this coming week; today (Thursday) they're at Toutle Lake, and on January 19, they go to Winlock.
