Napavine hands Lady Mules a loss

The visiting Napavine Tigers handed the Wahkiakum Lady Mule basketball team a 43-31 loss on Tuesday.

The Tigers went on a 13-point spurt in the third quarter to take control of the game. Leading 24-17 at halftime, they outscored the Mules 18-5 in the quarter to lead 42-22 after three quarters.

The Mules turned the table in the fourth quarter, holding the Tigers to one point while scoring nine.

Blaine Land led the Mules with 10 points. Caitlin Nicolazzi added seven, Shelby Felton six, Brianne Helms four and Brieanna Olsen two.

Land grabbed 13 rebounds, and Nicolazzi had 12.

The Lady Mules head to Morton/White Pass tonight (Thursday) and entertain Pe Ell next Tuesday.
