Mildred A. Brawley, 89, a 44-year-resident of Cathlamet was born July 17, 1921 in Oasis, Miss. and departed this life on December 25, 2010 in Cathlamet.
She was the eldest of 10 children born to Charlie and Ethel Anderson. In October, 1942, she was united in marriage with Everet J. Brawley, who preceded her in death in May, 1992. She is survived by one son, Earl Dean Brawley of Kelso; one daughter, Loretta Snowadzki of Fairview, Ore .; five sisters, Elvada Boxwell, Eunice Asbury, Ileen Bowen, Carmeletta Humbard, all of Arkansas and Charleen Keller of Yorba Linda, Calif .; five grandchildren, Tammy Johnson of Cathlamet, Bryan Brawley of Gresham, Ore., Tyler Brawley of Murray, Utah, Travis Brawley of Boise, Idaho and Amber Meyers of Vancouver; three great grand-grandchildren, Holly Graham of Port Angeles and Brittany and Cole Brawley of Gresham; one great-great grandchild, Maddox Moore, and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Bobby Gene Brawley, brothers Lex and Lev Anderson, and sisters Snowdie Boyd and Audrey Epley.
Funeral services will be held at Dowling Funeral Home in Cathlamet on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Fred A. Johnson officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in Mildred Brawley's name to Cathlamet Fire Department First Aid Division, P.O. Box 142, Cathlamet, WA 98612.
