Chamber begins festive season November 27

The holiday season in Cathlamet begins next Saturday with many activities organized by the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber is still looking for designers to design trees for their "Festival of Trees" with the chance to win a prize by donating a decorated tree, wreath or swag. Entry forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce or Bank of the Pacific. Trees will be on display in the Hotel Cathlamet Lobby until December 17. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite or bid on the tree they would like to take home.

A "Walk Down Christmas Lane," also on Saturday, will begin at 3 p.m. Local businesses will offer festive treats and shoppers will have the opportunity to find something for everyone on their list with a card that will be stamped by the merchants and entered into a drawing for prizes.

The "Holiday Artisan Market" located in the Old Downtown Gallery on Main Street will also begin at 3 p.m. with a Meet the Artist Reception from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Adult refreshments will be served. This shop will remain open through December 22.

At 4:30 p.m., Santa will arrive on a fire truck at the courthouse for the lighting of the Christmas Tree. After Santa makes his entrance, kids of all ages can follow him to the Museum, where a festive Christmas area will be available and photos with Santa can be taken.
