Travis James Burdick, 61, of Longview died October 26, 2010, at a Cathlamet adult care facility.
He was born December 29, 1948, in Longview, to Traverse O. and Irene (Harrington) Burdick. Travis attended Cathlamet schools, graduating from Wahkiakum High School in 1967. He spent many years living in the Vancouver and Portland areas before returning to Longview four years ago.
He worked as a general contractor. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and loved animals.
In 1969 he married Marvene Von Allmen in Longview. They had two children and later divorced.
He is survived by son Ryan Burdick of Longview; daughter Jennifer Jessen of Kelso; five sisters, Merita Sturtz of Ferndale, Joann Gust of Marysville, Calif., Margie Moore of Cathlamet, Patricia Sundahl of Kelso and Trena Ashe of Rosburg; three grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews and several cousins, including Sheila Gacke to whom he was very close.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1991 and his father in 2003.
A celebration of life and potluck gathering will be held at 1 p.m. November 6 at the Longview Women’s Club, 835 21st Ave.
