Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
October 11--10:08 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a two car accident on Main Street.
October 12--3:52 a.m. Deputies responded to an alarm at a Cathlamet business to find it had been burgled. A suspect was identified using surveillance footage. 4:55 p.m. A caller reported a bus passenger was harassing a Cathlamet business. 5:59 p.m. A caller reported a person living in a storage unit. 10:06 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an East Valley residence to aid an eight year old boy who was unconscious and having trouble breathing. 11:09 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 28 year old woman having a seizure.
October 13--12:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 71 year old woman with hip pain. 2:28 p.m. A caller reported having her purse stolen while she was in the post office. 2:41 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and fire crews responded to a two story house fire on Columbia Street. 4:45 p.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance. One person was taken into custody. 7:20 p.m. Child protective services were called in by deputies to rehome three foster children. 7:26 p.m. A caller reported a cell phone had been stolen.
October 14--9:08 a.m. Two dogs were reported loose in the Altoona-Pillar Rock Road area. 4:28 p.m. A caller reported the violation of a no contact order. 4:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 28 year old male who had taken a suspected overdose. 4:55 p.m. A report was received from Crown Camp Road that a dog was being neglected. The owner was contacted.
October 15--A caller reported two credit cards had been taken out in his name without his consent. 2:35 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an 80 year old male who was weak and unable to get around. 4:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the Family Health Center to aid a woman having a possible heart attack. 5:22 p.m. A Beaver Creek resident reported someone had trespassed and damaged a gate sometime the night before. 5:37 p.m. Deputies responded to a Cathlamet business after reports of suspected shoplifting. Two were taken into custody. 5:39 p.m. Two calls were received from a East SR4 address reporting trespass and a subsequent assault. 11:27 p.m. A West Valley Butte road caller reported shots fired in an area where elk had been seen.
October 16--7:32 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported people were shooting in the direction of his house. A Department of Fish and Wildlife agent was notified. 10:11 a.m. A Beaver Creek Road resident reported another case of trespass and property damage; at 4:58 p.m. the caller reported three vehicles trespassing in the same area. 6:54 p.m. A sailboat was reported to have run aground at the mouth of the channel to the Elochoman Marina.
October 17--A domestic disturbance between a mother and her son's girlfriend was reported. The victim refused to cooperate. 3:53 p.m. A caller reported a laptop was stolen in a burglary on a Columbia Street residence. 5:35 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to help a 60 year old female with possible pneumonia.
