Law enforcement is a serious profession

To The Eagle:

We're voting for Jon Dearmore for Sheriff because he has the training, experience and management skills to lead the department and serve the citizens of Wahkiakum County.

Law enforcement is a serious and often dangerous profession. While a desire to serve the community is a good place to start, the office of Sheriff requires the experience, training and common sense that only comes from working in law enforcement for more than 20 years. The Sheriff leads one of the most important departments in the county and must have the skills and experience to manage the personnel, budget and resources to keep our community safe.

Several members of our family work in law enforcement in the Northwest. Their effectiveness and safety depends on their training and experience as well as the leadership of the command. We want the same for the law enforcement officers and residents of our county which is why we're voting for Jon Dearmore for Sheriff.
