Chili feed ahead

The Seventh Annual Buzzards Breath Chili Cook-Off will take place at the marina on September 4, and the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce is still looking for participating teams.

Teams should contact the Chamber office or find a copy of the rules and application at the office or on the Internet at http://www.wahkiakumchamber.com.

There is no cost to enter, and teams have the opportunity to win a unique trophy and bragging rights.

Cooking starts at 10 a.m., and the public will start tasting at 1 p.m. Judging is at 3 p.m.

Other activities include a Tortilla Throwing Contest--kids get prizes, live music, a beer garden, and the Cow Plop Raffle--if the cow hits your spot, you will win 25 percent of the pot from the day's proceeds.
