Library literary event to showcase local authors

The Blanche Bradley Memorial Library Foundation is having a fundraiser for the Cathlamet City Library on August 28 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The “Literary Fête” will be held at the Stockhouse Farm on Puget Island at 59 W. Birnie Slough Road. Area authors giving talks on their publications are Suzanne Martinson, co-author of The Falling Waters Cookbook, and Jolan Durrah who authored Adventures in Borneo. Nick Nikkila will read from his recollections of growing up in Deep River in the late 1950s. Members of the Wahkiakum Acoustic Guitar Society will provide the music. Appetizers and wine will be served. Proceeds from the ticket sales benefit the Foundation which support and enhance the Cathlamet City Library.

Ticket price is $25 per person and can be obtained by calling Paula Holloway at 849-4468 or Cheryl Nelson at 431-7120. Tickets can also be picked up at Bank of the Pacific or Cathlamet Realty West.
