Emergency crews, volunteers thanked

To The Eagle:

As many of you know, Grays River residents Del and Trudy Fredrickson lost their home in a fire last Thursday.

I would like to thank all of the emergency crews that helped on the scene, including crews from Grays River, Cathlamet, Skamokawa, Dist. 4, and Naselle. Fortunately Grays River volunteer Jon Gudmundsen, who is a battalion chief for Kitsap County, was first on scene. He did an excellent job of commanding the scene and helping the crews work together to get the fire out.

My husband Troy Norris was in charge of staging. He had to shut the road down for a few minutes at a time because the access to South Satterlund road from the west is restricted because of the bridge overpass, so the incoming emergency vehicles had to make U-turns in the road.

Troy said that there were about 14 units on scene and they worked extremely well as a team. I would also like to thank the Grays River Cafe for supplying food for the emergency crews on last minute notice.
