Sheriff's Report - July 29, 2010

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 19--5:17 a.m. A Columbia Street resident reported hearing voices in another part of the residence; no one was around upon investigation. 10:43 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a theft of a firearm. 10:23 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to transport a Cathlamet resident to a hospital. 11:04 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported someone had broken into his shop and stolen a welder and pressure washer. 11:32 a.m. A Bradley Mountain resident reported someone was dumping remains of animals on other peoples property. 1:52 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island girl who was very sick. 2:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to transport a Cathlamet man to a hospital.

July 20--12:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Island View Lane teenager with a dislocated knee. 8:43 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman having extreme pain. 10:17 p.m. Middle Valley residents said someone had taken down signs for political candidates.

July 21--7:02 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet man who was unresponsive. 11:52 a.m. A Columbia Street resident reported someone had stolen a political sign. 7:06 p.m. A Fern Hill Road resident reported someone had stolen a campaign sign.

July 22--1:48 a.m. Law officers and the Cathlamet ambulance, rescue rig and a fire truck responded to the east side of KM Mountain where a motorist had fallen asleep and run off SR 4; the state patrol was advised. 1:52 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to Oneida Road where a chimney fire destroyed a family's residence. 12:17 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported someone had been threatening another person.

July 23--10:58 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Broadway Street woman who was very ill. 3:47 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to transport a Cathlamet woman to a hospital. 4:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who was too weak to move.

July 24--5:28 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman who was very ill. 8:44 a.m. At the request of Castle Rock police, a Wahkiakum officer arrested a juvenile at a Deep River residence. 9:09 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported someone was going through the neighborhood, knocking on doors, and running off.

July 25--3:13 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet man with extreme back pain. 10:58 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with breathing difficulty. 11:37 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a man with a pistol was making threats; officers responded and arrested the man. 1:53 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman having chest pain.

July 26--8:07 a.m. A logging company spokesman reported someone had stolen equipment worth $5,000 to $10,000 off of machinery at a work site up Family Camp Road; the caller said a reward is offered for recovery of the equipment. 2:25 p.m. A caller reported someone had broken into his house and taken some blank checks. 2:27 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a man was being harassed; a deputy is investigating. 8:16 p.m. A motorist reported being tailgated and harassed by another driver; the state patrol was advised.
