State versus Sigrin Hjaltalin, 24: The defendant pled not guilty to charges of assault in the second degree and possession of marijuana with intent to manufacture or deliver. A jury trial was scheduled for August 4 and 5.
State versus Michael Williams, 55: The defendant had pled not guilty on April 5 to charges of delivery of a controlled substance, morphine sulfate, and to delivery of marijuana. A new jury trial date was set for October 6 and 7.
State versus Brian S. Montgomery, 16, Cathlamet: The defendant pled guilty to charges of possession of a stolen firearm and hunting big game in the second degree. He was part of a group possessing stolen pistols and who shot and killed an elk along Fossil Creek Road in March, 2009. He was ordered to serve 10 days in juvenile detention and to pay a $100 Crime Victim Assessment (CVA), $100 fine and court appointed attorney cost of $673.60.

State versus Charles L. Wika, 58: The defendant had pled guilty May 3 to charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and communication with a minor for immoral purposes. The second count was dismissed, and he was sentenced to serve 36 months in prison and to pay a $500 CVA, $230 court costs, $100 DNA fee and the cost of his court appointed attorney. A restitution hearing is set for July 26.

The court declared a mistrial in the jury trial of Jack Sebade, 74, because of a potential juror's comments about a witness. A new trial was scheduled for September 14. The defendant is charged with assault in the first degree; the state claims he shot a man on October 24, 2009; the defendant has claimed self defense.

State versus Joseph Robert Lofstrom, 27, Cathlamet: The defendant pled guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. He was ordered to serve two months in jail and to pay a $500 CVA, $100 DNA collection fee, $230 court costs, and the cost of his court appointed attorney.

State versus Robert Burton Falconer, Sr .: The defendant pled guilty to three charges: 1. assault in the third degree--lawful process or lawful apprehension; 2. reckless driving, and 3. driving while license is suspended. He was ordered to serve 90 days in jail and to pay a $500 CVA, $230 court costs, $100 DNA collection fee, $800 in fines; $6,565.86 reimbursement to Wahkiakum County, and the cost of his appointed attorney.
State versus Ronnell John Chambers, Jr., 46, Seaview: The defendant pled guilty to a charge of possessing 40 grams or less of marijuana. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 60 suspended on conditions, and ordered to pay a $500 CVA and $230 court costs.
