Art contest seeks sign for new community garden

Just Grow It! and partners are asking youth to participate in an art contest for a sign to be displayed at the garden in Erickson Park in Cathlamet.

They are looking for a design that is transferable to a large sign format. Entries should have a theme that represents the spirit of gardening, healthy eating, and community. The winner's artwork will be prominently displayed at the park garden site. Mail entries to Wahkiakum County Health Department, PO Box 696, Cathlamet, WA 98612. Entries may also be taken to the Health Department office at 64 Main Street, located in the rear of the county courthouse. The winning entry will be determined by the stakeholders of "Just Grow It!" and announced during the week of June 21. An award ceremony will be held later to reveal the design upon completion of the sign. Questions can be directed to the Health Department at 360-795-6207.
