Filing opens Monday for fall elections

Filing for elected positions on the 2010 primary and general election ballots runs next Monday through Friday in the county auditor's office.

Many county department offices will be up for election. Positions on the ballot, and their filing fees, include:

--County commissioner, District 3, Skamokawa, Deep River, Grays River and Rosburg precents, $359.80. Blair Brady, a Democrat, is the incumbent.

--Assessor, $553.78; Sulema Zerr, a Republican, is the incumbent.

--Auditor, $553.78; Diane Tischer, a Democrat, is the incumbent.

--Clerk, $553.78; Kay Holland, a Democrat, is the incumbent; she was appointed last year to fill a vacancy.

--District Court Judge, $425.13; the position is non-partisan. Bill Faubion is the incumbent.

--Prosecuting Attorney, $1,201.65; Dan Bigelow, a Democrat, is the incumbent.

--Sheriff, $700.27; incumbent Dan Bardsley, a Democrat, has announced he won't seek re-election. Undersheriff Jon Dearmore has announced he is running for the position as an independent.

--Treasurer, $553.78; Paula Holloway, a Democrat, is the incumbent.

--Wahkiakum PUD Commissioner, District 3, Skamokawa, Deep River, Grays River and Rosburg precincts, $120. The position is non-partisan. Esther Gregg is the incumbent.

The auditor's office is open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-4 p.m.
