State versus Tonya D. Jastrow, 34, Longview: The defendant entered a plea of not guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A Washington State Patrolman responded to the District 4 Fire Hall at Cathlamet on April 25 where emergency medical technicians were aiding the defendant, who was the driver of a pickup. She was in and out of consciousness and said she had taken prescription medication. The patrolman searched the defendant's vehicle and found 48 pain relief pills, one of which was an over the counter pill and 22 were in a prescription bottle for the defendant; the others were in baggies. A trial was scheduled for July 19.

State versus Charles L. Wika, 58, Cathlamet: The defendant pled guilty to a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor. A presentencing evaluation was scheduled; sentencing will take place in June.

State versus Cecil R. Williamson: The defendant pled guilty to a charge of illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail, which were converted to 15 eight-hour days of community service, and ordered to pay a $500 Crime Victim Assessment, $230 court costs, $59.75 sheriff's service fee and a $100 DNA collection fee. The court agreed to a modified sentence: The defendant and two friends, whom he had been chauffeuring around for hunting, were at a Westend residence last fall when they heard gunshots from a field posted No Trespassing and No Hunting. While the companions called to report the trespass; the defendant drove to the scene to get a licence plate number, not realizing one of the companions had left his rifle in the vehicle. He waited for a game agent to arrive; the agent noticed the rifle in the pickup as the defendant pointed out where the trespassers could be found. A dispatcher alerted the agent that the defendant had been convicted of a felony, and he was arrested after the agent arrested the trespassing hunters.

Michael Brian Vincent, petitioner, versus Lori Ann Vincent, respondent. The court entered a final decree of dissolution of marriage and changed the petitioner's name to Lori Ann Smith.

April 19

State versus Mitchell A. Vik, a juvenile: The defendant pled guilty to an amended charge, assault in the fourth degree. He was ordered to pay a $50 fine, $75 Crime Victim Assessment and to participate in a counseling evaluation program.

Nora Lee McCulley, petitioner, versus Paul Joseph McCulley, respondent. The court entered a final decree of dissolution of marriage and changed the petitioner's name to Nora Lee Sorenson.

Gregory Wayne Snodgrass, petitioner, versus, Rebecca Jan Snodgrass, respondent. The court entered a final decree of dissolution of marriage.

Tracy L. Gilbert, petitioner, versus Leslie R. Gilbert, respondent. The court entered a final decree of dissolution of marriage and changed the petitioner's name to Tracy L. Stanley.

Leslie L. Burns, petitioner, and Kimberly Lynn Burns, respondent: The court entered a final decree of dissolution of marriage.
