Hounds to run on Puget Island

A three day lure coursing event for hounds will be held on Puget Island this weekend.

Sponsored by the Afghan Hound Club of Greater Portland and the Willamette Valley Basenji Club, the event will run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 a.m. until mid-afternoon at Misty Rivers Plantation, 117 Cross Dike Road.

Sight hounds from wolfhounds to basenjis will chase an artificial lure around a half mile course. Admission is free, securely leashed family dogs are welcome and public parking is available along the driveway. Refreshments will be served by Bottoms Up Espresso.
