Port district should be self sustaining

To The Eagle:

There's quite a few letters written to The Eagle about the Port District which brings to my attention regarding property tax.

I thought property tax was to pay for schools, police, fire departments and roads; so why are we paying tax to the Port District?

They seem to be self sustaining enough to take care of its own, especially the marina.
