Sheriff's Report - April 15, 2010

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

April 5--7:40 a.m. A motorist reported a tree was partially blocking West Valley Road; the county road department was notified. 9:33 a.m. A caller reported possible ID theft.

April 6--4:29 p.m. An officer arrested a person following a traffic stop on SR 4 west of Cathlamet.

April 7--12:11 p.m. A Cathlamet resident said teenage boys have been harassing a person's dog. 4:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a middle school boy who injured a knee at a track meet. 5:41 p.m. A caller reported gillnetters were fishing in the Cathlamet Channel; officers learned the season had opened not long before the calls. 7:01 p.m. A caller reported four kids were in an old building on Broadway Street; an officer contacted the youths and their parents about trespassing. 9:39 p.m. Officers arrested a man for violating terms of release from jail while awaiting trial.

April 8--10:50 a.m. A caller said a small child is unattended at a Cathlamet residence while the child's parents sleep during the day. 10:51 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman who had fallen. 2:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man who had badly cut three fingers. 4:17 p.m. Cathlamet firemen were dispatched to aid a 10-year-old boy stuck in a tree at a Messinger Hill residence.

April 9--9:46 a.m. A caller said a Puget Island man was driving recklessly and had failed to stop at three stop signs; an officer made contact. 11:42 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported finding and securing a drifting jet ski. 2:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 14-year-old girl who had severe abdominal pain. 5:19 p.m. A caller reported drivers, youth and adult, were driving recklessly in the area around Cathlamet schools; a deputy was advised. 9:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet girl who was very ill.

April 10--8:43 a.m. A caller reported being bitten by a dog at a Covered Bridge Road residence; a deputy investigated. 10:02 a.m. A Deep River resident reported someone had stolen wheels off a pickup during the previous night. 10:46 p.m. A caller reported people were having an illegal party in a Main Street building; an officer investigated.

April 11--12:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman lying on a sidewalk along Main Street. 8:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with chest pain. 12:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman who was very ill. 7:31 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a man with chest pain.
