GRHED candidate's credentials important

To The Eagle:

Was it necessary to edit out the fact that Grays River Habitat Enhancement District candidate Delvin Fredrickson worked at the Livermore Radiation Lab? That job gave him important knowledge and experience with technology that he is now using in his position on the GRHED. How about an update?

1. Background/resumé

--Education: Graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1959; two years military service in the Army as a paratrooper; and continued with four years of college.

--Business/professional: Worked as a journeyman plasterer for several years as well as many other phases of construction. Hired out of college by Lawrence Radiation Laboratory in Livermore, California with the Design Department. Retired from City of Stockton in California after nearly 30 years with the Public Works Department as the Soils Engineer and Engineering Inspector.

--Other: married 43 years to wife, Trudy, with six children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

2.Why run for position?

To continue supporting the landowners within the District with flood control and diking issues.

3. What do you hope to accomplish?

To continue with and add to the progress being made with the west end dikes, Mill Road dike, PUD project, FEMA work being done at various locations and to help with property rights and protection for the farms .and land within the District, as well as continue to deal with the progress being made with the flooding and erosion issues caused by the Columbia Land Trust/Ducks Unlimited with the Kandoll Farm Project.
