Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
March 15--1:24 p.m. A motorist reported someone had run into the guard rail at the Beaver Creek bridge; estimated damage was $2,000 or more. 3:02 p.m. Officers executed a search warrant at a Rosedale residence and arrested a male. 3:27 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to a log loader fire up the Abe Creek grade. 6:46 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported someone had violated a protection order. 8:43 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported someone had violated a protection order. 9:29 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported someone's dog had killed a bunch of chickens at a nearby residence. 11:39 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported being awakened by a barking dog, hearing footsteps on the front porch and finding the basement door open.
March 16--10:04 a.m. A River View Road resident reported someone had taken items, including a computer, cell phone and wallet, from a car. 12:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman who had fallen and lost consciousness.
March 17--5:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a child injured in a fall. 10:40 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported someone was trapping and stealing cats.
March 18--11:13 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a ring had been stolen. 1:02 p.m. Officers executed a search warrant at a Rosedale residence and took a male into custody. 4:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with heart trouble. 5:16 p.m. A woman reported someone had taken a purse from a vehicle parked in Cathlamet.
March 19--9:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man with chest pain. 10:32 a.m. The sheriff department marine patrol was dispatched to check on a sailboat that was reported to have run aground in the Clifton Channel; it was gone when the patrol arrived. 12:59 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a girl who had fallen from a bicycle and hit her head on North Welcome Slough Road; a Life Flight helicopter was summoned to transport her to care. 10:43 p.m. A caller reported hearing loud booms in the Puget Island area; officers were unable to pinpoint a source.
March 20--11:07 a.m. Grays River residents reported someone had knocked down mail boxes and traffic signs along county roads. 12:49 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman who was ill. 3:07 p.m. A Deep River resident reported someone had spray painted some buses and motor homes. 6 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman who was ill.
March 21--2:17 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a foster child had stolen a car and credit cards; the child was arrested in Kelso. 1:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident with abdominal pain. 2:41 p.m. A caller reported someone was shooting a high power rifle near Par Drive. 8:49 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a woman with a severe headache. 9:26 p.m. An East Birnie Slough Road resident reported someone was shooting over someone's house; officers responded and took a person into custody and confiscated five weapons.
March 22--12:46 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an East Birnie Slough Road resident who was very ill.
