Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
March 1--6:23 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman with breathing trouble. 2:01 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported an attempted fraud; a deputy investigated. 6:20 p.m. A Covered Bridge Road resident reported a 40-inch high female mastiff slipped her collar earlier in the day and hasn't turned up. 8:55 p.m. A Rosedale business reported someone had stolen .22 ammunition. 10:18 p.m. A caller said a man had taken her vehicle without permission.
March 2--1:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the elementary school to aid a girl with chest pain.
March 3--4:04 p.m. A motorist reported four kids wearing hoodies were jumping in front of cars on Greenwood Road.
March 4--4:39 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported someone had stolen a tractor.
March 5--1:37 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman who was confused and talking with slurred speech. 8:14 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Greenwood Road woman who was very weak. 2:33 p.m. A possible case of child abuse was reported; an officer investigated. 6:31 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a man with chest pain. 8:31 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to investigate an open line on a 9-1-1 call; the Grays River ambulance was dispatched to aid a woman having seizures. 11:22 p.m. A caller reported a woman was threatening suicide; Wahkiakum Mental Health staff member made contact.
March 6--3:01 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an Altoona-Pillar Rock Road woman with breathing difficulty. 3:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with severe back pain. 5:55 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported someone was taking things out of a house that was supposed to be unoccupied. 6:30 p.m. A caller reported people were driving ATV's on the Elochoman Valley Road; an officer made contact and learned the people were taking an injured person to a hospital; they refused an ambulance.
March 7--2:11 a.m. A caller reported being threatened. 10:54 a.m. A caller reported two small dogs were chasing cattle along Greenwood Road; the owners were contacted. 1:47 p.m. The Puget Island Fire Department was dispatched to a chimney fire at a South Welcome Slough Road residence.
