Longtime Alaskan Lou Allen Wegdahl, 74, died January 27, 2010 at his home in Anchorage.
He was born May 8, 1935 in Cathlamet at Puget Island and attended high school. He moved to Alaska in 1970 and lived in Kodiak for 35 years and Anchorage for five.
He was a commercial fisherman in Alaska waters and the Columbia River. He began fishing in 1949, fishing for sturgeon, salmon, herring and king crab before retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the American Legion in Kodiak and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
He is survived by his sister, Gladys Spooner of Cathlamet; sons Kristian Wegdahl and Walter Bernhard; daughter-in-law Kimberly Wegdahl; sister-in-law Barbara Anderson; brothers-in-law Gene Anderson and Dave Spooner and many other family members in both Washington and Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his wife Brocklyn Wegdahl, five months ago; his brothers Alvin and Terry Wegdahl; his father Lindor Wegdahl and his mother Albertine (Svensen) Wegdahl.
