Grange News

If you haven’t already done so, take the time to visit Redmen Hall where Grangers, Tom and Cora Irving’s, beautiful handmade quilts are on display. Redmen Hall is open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. A photo of the quilt display can be found on the Grays River Grange website http://graysriver.grange.wahkiakum.info. Quilts will be on exhibit through April.

Grays River Grangers will move forward with restoration work at the Grange Hall. The ceiling tiles have already been removed opening up the original high ceiling. With the ceiling tiles gone the acoustics in the hall are much better. The next step will be to remove the grid that held the tiles and then painting the very high ceiling. When painting begins, volunteers will be needed and appreciated.

Grays River Grange members voted to donate $200 to Naselle High School Junior, Megan Agee, for her educational trip to Washington DC. Megan will depart on April 1. The weeklong program focuses on democracy and government and gives students the opportunity to experience their government in action and to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to become informed and engaged citizens. Upon her return, Megan will report back to Grange members on her experiences in DC.

For those of you who have not paid 2010 Grange dues, second notices will be mailed out soon. Members were also mailed our spring newsletter. There’s a pdf on our website if you haven’t seen it.
