Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Famous for his nick name, "Moon," Jerry Wayne Anderson, resident of Battle Ground for over 30 years, passed away on February 1, 2010 at the age of 62.
He graduated from Hudson Bay High School in 1965, the same year his basketball team placed first in state.
Jerry served in the National Reserves in 1967. He recently retired from the Columbia River Log Scaling Bureau after 42 years of service and was a member of the Dollars Corner Moose Lodge and previous member of the Woodland JC's and Elks.
During his lifetime, Jerry enjoyed riding his motor cycles, traveling, camping and gardening. He was an avid fan of sports and especially enjoyed attending his grandsons, Jake and Alex's, sporting events and University of Utah football games.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Elaine Anderson of Vancouver; daughters, Dena Cearley of Vancouver, Kari Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandsons, Jake Cearley and Alex White; nieces and nephews, and brother, James Anderson of White Salmon.
Funeral services were held February 6. Interment was at Fern Hill Cemetery in Skamokawa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Coleman Breast Cancer Society.
