Sheriff's Report - February 18, 2010

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past two weeks, including:

February 1--9:52 a.m. A caller reported illegal dumping at the county's KM Transfer Station. 5:02 p.m. A caller reported a non-injury traffic accident on Main Street; a deputy investigated. 5:21 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported someone was going through mailboxes along Jacobson Road.

February 2--2:59 p.m. Maple Lane correctional facility staff reported information about three possible sexual assaults alleged to have occurred in Wahkiakum County; an officer is investigating.

February 3--2:12 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman with chest pain. 11:07 a.m. A caller reported people were dumping trash at an unoccupied house near Skamokawa; the report was referred to the health department.

February 4--2:34 a.m. A security check found a door at Wahkiakum High School propped open by a garbage can; school authorities were contacted. 9:51 a.m. A caller reported an assault at an Elochoman Valley residence; the case was referred to Children's Protective Services. 11:13 p.m. A caller reported a man and woman were fighting at a Cathlamet residence; all was quiet when an officer arrived.

February 5--2:17 p.m. A motorist reported a car had collided with a parked vehicle in the courthouse parking lot. 3:10 p.m. A caller reported someone had left trailers parked on the caller's Westend property; an officer made contact, and arrangements were made to move the trailers.

February 6--6:14 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman with an unknown problem. 11:07 a.m. A Rosedale business reported a vehicle drove off without paying for gasoline. 3:32 p.m. A Rosedale resident said juveniles have been pounding on people's doors and running away. 4:32 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported being threatened.

February 7--1:43 a.m. A caller reported a man had assaulted a Puget Island woman; an officer investigated.

February 8--10:13 a.m. A caller said a son was beating his mother at a Cathlamet residence; an officer investigated. 3:27 p.m. A caller reported receiving harassing phone calls from juveniles. 4:55 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa man with breathing trouble. 5:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man with a diabetic problem. 7:56 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island man with an unknown problem.

February 9--11:02 a.m. A caller said a man was taking logs off another person's property along Waranka Road; a deputy investigated. 12:10 p.m. Wahkiakum High School reported a student had brought a bottle with alcohol in it to school. 3:04 p.m. WHS reported a student had physically assaulted another student; a deputy investigated.

February 10--1:42 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an East Valley resident with breathing trouble. 6:01 p.m. A caller said someone was banging on her house door in Cathlamet.

February 11--12:57 p.m. WHS reported a student had struck a teacher; a deputy investigated. 3:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with breathing trouble. 8:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Greenwood Road woman with breathing problems. 11:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with pregnancy complications.

February 12--11:47 a.m. An Eden Valley resident reported a possible burglary at a trailer owned by a person living out of the area. 2:36 p.m. An officer reported two stolen trailers had been located at an Elochoman Valley farm and the owner could make arrangements to collect them.

February 13--5:40 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a man with high blood pressure. 7:20 a.m. A Rosedale business reported a vehicle had left without paying for gasoline. 2:53 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman with chest pain. 6:07 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a report that a car struck a pedestrian on Puget Island; there were no serious injuries.

February 14--7:35 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a man with a bleeding problem. 9:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with breathing problems. 12:12 p.m. A motorist reported the driver of a motor home had almost run the caller off SR 4 near County Line Park; the state patrol was notified.

February 15--12:01 a.m. Wahkiakum officers were asked to monitor SR 4 in case a man wanted in the shooting of a state patrolman in Long Beach tried to escape along SR 4; the man was arrested in the Long Beach area.
